As a part of Dialogue’s sessions, Mr. Le Manh Cuong, President & CEO of Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), contributed a presentation titled “PTSC and the capabilities in offshore wind infrastructure development” to give an update on the development progress of offshore renewable industry in Vietnam, in which PTSC is currently the only member of Petrovietnam having full capacity and legal basis to invest, develop and operate offshore wind power projects. Mr. Le Manh Cuong emphasized that PTSC had been and would allocate more resources on stepping up investments in infrastructure and equipment including but not limited to supply bases, fabrication yards, specialized manufacturing machinery and importantly, providing more professional training programmes on offshore renewable energy industry to PTSC’s staffs. In parallel, PTSC had also been actively promoting comprehensive cooperation with global leading energy companies to help PTSC reinforce its expertise, financing capability as well as the project management and deployment ability in order to get ready for roles as services provider and investor, developer for upcoming offshore renewable energy projects.

Through his presentation, PTSC re-affirmed its goals in setting the offshore renewable energy, especially the offshore wind development, to become one of PTSC’s new business development strategies in the near future. PTSC, once again, was keen on the transition to be the investor and developer for offshore wind power projects in Vietnam. All furtherly visualized PTSC’s future sustainable development goals in the context of the recent on-going decline of oil & gas projects in Vietnam and the region, and demonstrated PTSC’s continued commitment to accompany Vietnamese Government on the clean and green roadmap in achieving the net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
