PTSC and SARENS signed the memorandum of understanding for the pursuit of renewable energy projects

October 13, 2022 – at PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC)’s headquaters in Ho Chi Minh city, PTSC signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SARENS to improve the productivity of parties’ facilities and jointly explore new project opportunities, particularly those in the renewable energy sector, on both the Vietnam and international markets. 

In the course of this ceremony, PTSC’s representatives shared the recent operating results in light of PTSC’s aggressive expansion into the emerging renewable energy sector. Accordingly, PTSC is the only member of Vietnam Oil & Gas Group (Petrovietnam) which has full capacity and legal basis to invest, develop and operate offshore wind power projects in Vietnam. PTSC was awarded long-term contracts of the provision of crew support vessels for operation and maintenance of nearshore windfarms in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh and Ca Mau provinces. PTSC is also executing the contract to supply, install and operate the FLIDAR for Enterprize Energy at Thang Long OWF, Binh Thuan province. For international markets, PTSC has won the contract to construct 02 offshore substations (OSS) for Hai Long 2 and 3 OWF in Taiwan and is bidding for the fabrication of foundations and other associated components to some large-scale OWF. Furthermore, PTSC is also exploring opportunities for investment of offshore renewable projects in provinces which have good potential for offshore renewable development such as Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Ba Ria – Vung Tau.


Impressed by those insights, Mr. Aseem Bhateja, Regional Director for SARENS Southeast Asia, affirmed that SARENS, with its global expertise and the know-how, is confident to support PTSC in upcoming projects. In addition,  Mr. Bhateja expressed his appreciation for the joint efforts made so far by PTSC and SARENS in the Vietnam market and pointed out the directions from SARENS to concretize this MoU in key business areas where the two companies might collaborate to their greatest competitive and intellectual advantages. Mr Bhateja reiterated SARENS’s expectations on this strategic cooperation for the renewable energy business by pledging to provide its specialized equipment and customized solutions, which will unquestionably help PTSC to improve its fabrication methods to meet stringent schedule requirements of the offshore renewable energy projects. 


The signing of this MoU strengthens the existing partnership between PTSC and SARENS and promote the two’s common goals towards booming renewable energy projects regionally and globally. The MoU also demonstrates the two’s willingness in exchanging business experience and resources to enhance the competitiveness in future project bidding and execution activities.
