Brief Introduction

PTSC, a member of Vietnam Oil & Gas Group (PetroVietnam - PVN)

PTSC was established on the implementation of Decision No. 458/TTg dated 24 November 1976 for the approval of the master plan to build a petroleum base in Vung Tau city.

Over 47 years of development, PTSC has made important breakthroughs to become a leading contractor in providing technical services for oil & gas industry and other industries in Vietnam and also an outstanding brandname for technical service in oil & gas industry in the region.

PTSC's core businesses are to provide technical services for oil & gas, energy and industrial sectors including high technical solution, high quality and professional approaching international standard such as: EPCIC for offhore facilities; EPC for industrial plants; FSO/FPSO; Offhsore supply vessels; Geological survey; Installation, operation and maintenance of offshore facilities; Port & Supply Base and Technical manpower supply.

PTSC was established on the implementation of Decision No. 458/TTg dated 24 November 1976 for the approval of the master plan to build a petroleum base in Vung Tau city, the premise to the establishment for the Geophysical Company (the former of Geophysical and Petroleum Technical Services Company (GPTS)).

Establishment of Petroleum Services Company (PSC)

The company operated mainly in providing living and life services. Since 1988, PSC started to implement several specialized petroleum services and at the same time, excecuted two important technical infrastructure projects assigned by the General Department of Petroleum, namely Vung Tau Petroleum Service Port and Vung Tau Petroleum Depot.

The merger of Petroleum Services Company (PSC) and Geophysical and Petroleum Technical Services Company (GPTS) into Petroleum Technical Services Company (PTSC), the sole state-owned enterprise in providing petroleum technical services with the focus on providing specialised supply vessels, port & supply base and technical manpower supply to petroleum contractors.

Focused on investment for fleet of modern specialized offshore supply vessels and expanding PTSC Vung Tau Supply base to become a modern and multipurpose base.

Successfully construction of the accommodation block LQ-CPC 99 for Vietsovpetro, a strong foundation for the development of petroleum mechanical and construction service.

1994 - 2006

Focused on investment for fleet of modern specialized offshore supply vessels and expanding PTSC Vung Tau Supply base to become a modern and multipurpose base.

Successfully construction of the accommodation block LQ-CPC 99 for Vietsovpetro, a strong foundation for the development of petroleum mechanical and construction service.

Performed O&M contract for Nam Con Son Gas Processing Plant, Lan Tay Processing Platform which set foundation of O&M services for offshore facilities.

Signed the business cooperation contract for investment in FPSO Ruby Princess between PTSC, PVI and PVFC, a new chapter for PTSC by joining a new promising high technical services which was supply, management operation and maintenance of FSO/FPSO.

2006: Successfully equitization and IPO

2007: Officially operated as joint stock company, changed organization structure in to Affiliated - Subsidiary company and PTSC’s stock with stock code PVS.

Invested in FSO Orkid and FPSO Ruby II, affirming PTSC’s ability in the provision of supply, operations, and maintenance services of FSO/FPSO. 

Successfully in execution of Bien Dong project with total volume of engineering and manufacturing up to 30.000 ton and worth 1 USD billion, the biggest EPC project in Vietnam that time as the main EPC contractor.

2006 - 2010

2006: Successfully equitization and IPO

2007: Officially operated as joint stock company, changed organization structure in to Affiliated - Subsidiary company and PTSC’s stock with stock code PVS.

Invested in FSO Orkid and FPSO Ruby II, affirming PTSC’s ability in the provision of supply, operations, and maintenance services of FSO/FPSO.

Invested in FSO PTSC Bien Dong 01 and FPSO PTSC Lam Son, mastered the core technologies in new-build, conversion and O&M services for FSO/FPSO, promoted PTSC as the lead contractor in Vietnam and well-positioned contractor in the region for the supply, operations, and maintenance services of FSO/FPSO.

Enhanced the capacity and competitiveness for EPCI projects by winning international competitive bidding and successfully performed projects such as HRD Platform for ONGC, Maharaja Lela South in Brunei for Total E&P.

Completed in building, launching, handing over and operating successfully and safely a fleet of 8 new built vessels for Nghi Son Refinery Plant project (NSRP).

FSO Golden Star officially in operation, marking a great milestone for Sao Vang - Dai Nguyet Project, together with Sao Vang CPP and inter-field pipeline system which were also executed by PTSC as the main contractor.

Executed successfully Gallaf Project (Al Shaheen) for North Oil Company in Qatar. The transportation, installation, commissioning of 3 WHP for the projectw ith over 800 PTSC employees in Qatar during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak was completed successfully and safely.

PTSC added new business lines: electricity generation, electricity transmission and distribution, industrial construction, renewable energy... opening up more development opportunities and heading to be the leading service provider on marine & industrial works in Vietnam.

In July 2021, PTSC was awarded by NOC for the Gallaf project - Phase 3 in Qatar with a volume of over 19,000 tons upon the fierce competition with international contractors globally.

In September 2021,  Northland Power Development Services Inc. and Yushan Engery Co., Ltd signed an agreement with PTSC M&C for the Engineering, Procurement & Construction of 02 substations of Hai Long 2 and Hai Long 3 wind power projects off the coast of Taiwan (China) marking for the first time a local Vietnamese enterprise was able to performed this kind of work.
PTSC has exceeded its production and business targets ensuring the safety of its workers on all local and foreign projects and generating good income and benefits for all employees in the context of the complicated outbreak of COVID-19 globally.
